The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the mount (1) By the book inscribed. (2) In parchment unrolled. (3) And [by] the frequented House (4) by the high ceiling (heaven), (5) and the sea that is full (6) the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, (7) There is none who could avert it. (8) A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. (9) and the mountains move, moving. (10) Will be the day of woe for those (11) Those who are playing in pursuits. (12) The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], (13) "This is the Fire which you used to deny. (14) Is it magic or do you not still see? (15) Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. (16) As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- (17) rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. (18) "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." (19) Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. (20) And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. (21) And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. (22) They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. (23) ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. (24) They will turn to one another ask questions, (25) They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). (26) but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. (27) before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." (28)
