Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (1) And by the Book Inscribed. (2) In a Scroll unfolded; (3) by the established House (Mecca), (4) By the Canopy Raised High; (5) And the swollen sea, (6) the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, (7) Of it there is no preventer. (8) [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, (9) and the mountains are in motion, (10) On that Day woe to those who belied (11) Those who in wading sport themselves. (12) On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): (13) “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” (14) “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” (15) “Enter it now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” (16) Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. (17) enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. (18) They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". (19) Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. (20) And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. (21) And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. (22) and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. (23) ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. (24) They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). (25) Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: (26) Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. (27) “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” (28)
