Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). (25) Then he went to his home so he brought a healthy calf. (26) and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” (27) Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). (28) His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" (29) They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. (30) ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" (31) They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, (32) So as to let loose clods of clay on them (33) “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” (34) We saved the believers among them, (35) We found in it only one household of true believers -- (36) And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. (37) In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, (38) In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” (39) So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. (40) There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind (41) that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. (42) And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' (43) But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: (44) So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. (45) Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. (46)
