Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
