Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? (24) When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). (25) Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, (26) and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, (27) So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. (28) His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" (31) They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, (32) “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” (33) “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” (34) So We brought out from therein the believers. (35) for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' (39) So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. (40) And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind (41) It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. (42) And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) And neither stand up nor defend themselves. (45) And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. (46)
