Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. (25) Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, (26) And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. (28) So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” (29) They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” (30) ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" (31) They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, (32) That we may send down upon them stone of clay, (33) which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." (34) We saved all the faithful in the town. (35) But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." (39) So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. (40) And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. (41) It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. (42) And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. (43) But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. (44) So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. (45) And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. (46)
