Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." (25) Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf (26) and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. (28) Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." (29) They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. (30) ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” (31) They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- (32) so that we bring down stones of clay upon them (33) They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". (34) Then we brought forth such believers as were there. (35) but We found only one Muslim house. (36) and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. (39) So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. (40) There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind (41) that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. (42) And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," (43) But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. (44) and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. (45) And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. (46)
