(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
