Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? (24) When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' (25) Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, (26) And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. (28) His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" (29) They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." (30) ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" (31) They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (32) That we may send down upon them stone of clay, (33) They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". (34) Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. (35) But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). (36) And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. (37) And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, (38) But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." (39) So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. (40) And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; (41) that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. (42) And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. (43) But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. (44) So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. (45) And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. (46)
