Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? (24) Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." (25) Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. (26) and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, (27) Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). (28) Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! (29) They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." (30) ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' (31) They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (32) that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones (33) Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. (34) Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. (35) But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, (38) But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" (39) Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. (40) And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. (41) It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. (42) And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," (43) But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; (44) they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. (45) And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. (46)
