(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? (24) When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. (25) So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. (26) and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' (27) He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. (28) Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' (29) They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' (30) ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" (31) They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (32) To send down upon them stones of baked clay. (33) marked by your Lord for the sinful' (34) Then We evacuated there from all the believers (35) We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. (36) And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. (37) And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. (38) In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” (39) So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. (40) There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind (41) which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. (44) And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. (45) And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. (46)
