Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
