Al-Dhaareyaat 2 of 3
Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? (24) When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. (25) So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, (26) And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" (27) (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. (28) Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! (29) They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. (30) ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? (31) They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); (32) So as to let loose clods of clay on them (33) They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". (34) So We brought forth such believers as were in it, (35) but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. (36) And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. (37) There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. (39) We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. (40) And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. (41) Which turned everything it touched to ashes. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. (44) and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. (45) So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. (46)
