Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. (25) Then he went to his home so he brought a healthy calf. (26) He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" (27) He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. (28) And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' (31) They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, (32) So as to let loose clods of clay on them (33) which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." (34) So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. (35) but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. (36) We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, (37) As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” (39) So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. (40) And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. (41) that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. (42) And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. (43) In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. (44) So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. (45) And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. (46)
