Hizb 53
Juz 27
(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? (24) When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." (25) Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. (26) And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? (27) So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. (28) Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" (31) They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. (32) to loose upon them stones of clay (33) marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." (34) Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, (35) But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. (39) So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. (40) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind (41) It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: (44) they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. (45) And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. (46)
