Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? (24) They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' (25) Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. (26) and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. (28) Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" (31) They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. (32) to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. (33) Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." (34) Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. (35) but We found only one Muslim house. (36) And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. (37) There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' (39) So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. (40) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind (41) It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. (42) And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. (45) [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. (46)
