Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? (24) When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," (25) Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf (26) and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' (27) Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. (28) But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" (29) They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." (30) ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” (31) They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people (32) "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), (33) "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." (34) Then We evacuated there from all the believers (35) and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' (39) We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. (40) And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; (41) which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. (44) and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. (45) And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. (46)
