Hizb 53
Juz 27
Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? (24) When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). (25) So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, (26) and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' (27) He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. (28) Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" (29) They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. (30) ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" (31) They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people (32) That we may send down upon them stone of clay, (33) Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." (34) Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. (35) But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, (36) And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. (37) And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. (38) The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". (39) We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. (40) And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind (41) Which turned everything it touched to ashes. (42) In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." (43) But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. (44) They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. (45) So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. (46)
