Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," (25) Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf (26) So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? (27) And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. (28) Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! (29) They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' (30) ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" (31) They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, (32) "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), (33) marked by your Lord for the sinful' (34) We saved the believers among them, (35) But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' (39) Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. (40) And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind (41) It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. (42) And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” (43) But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. (44) And neither stand up nor defend themselves. (45) And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. (46)
