Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? (24) When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. (25) Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, (26) And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. (28) Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! (29) They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" (30) ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” (31) They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, (32) That we may send upon them stones of clay, (33) marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. (34) So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. (35) We found in it only one household of true believers -- (36) We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. (37) There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” (39) We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. (40) And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind (41) Which turned everything it touched to ashes. (42) And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. (43) But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; (44) for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. (45) Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. (46)
