Hizb 53
Juz 27
Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? (24) When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. (25) So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, (26) So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? (27) (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. (28) His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" (29) They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. (30) ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” (31) They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people (32) To send down upon them stones of baked clay. (33) “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” (34) We saved the believers among them, (35) but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. (36) And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. (37) And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. (38) but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' (39) So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. (40) There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind (41) It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. (42) And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. (45) And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. (46)
