Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? (24) When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” (25) Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf (26) And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. (28) And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" (29) They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. (30) ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' (31) They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, (32) to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, (33) Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." (34) So We brought the believers out of that they were in. (35) We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. (37) And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. (38) But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" (39) Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. (40) And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind (41) that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. (42) And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" (43) But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. (44) So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. (45) And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. (46)
