Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? (24) When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. (25) Then he went to his home so he brought a healthy calf. (26) He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. (28) His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" (31) They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, (32) That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. (33) which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." (34) Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. (35) But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. (36) And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. (37) In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, (38) But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. (39) So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. (40) And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind (41) that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. (42) And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' (43) But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. (44) Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. (45) So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. (46)
