Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - (24) When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. (25) So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. (26) and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” (27) (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. (28) So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” (29) They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" (30) ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” (31) They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people (32) So as to let loose clods of clay on them (33) marked by your Lord for the sinful' (34) Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. (35) But did not find more than a single family of believers. (36) and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. (37) In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, (38) But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. (39) So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. (40) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind (41) It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. (44) They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. (45) And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. (46)
