Hizb 53
Juz 27
Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? (24) When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." (25) Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; (26) And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" (27) He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. (28) But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" (29) They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" (30) ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" (31) They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (32) “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” (33) marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. (34) And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: (35) but We found only one Muslim house. (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. (39) So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. (40) In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, (41) and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. (42) And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” (43) But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: (44) So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- (45) (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. (46)
