Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. (25) He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. (26) He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" (27) So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. (28) His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" (29) They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” (30) ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' (31) They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, (32) So as to let loose clods of clay on them (33) “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” (34) We saved all the faithful in the town. (35) We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. (36) And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. (37) And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. (38) and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" (39) So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. (40) And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind (41) It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. (42) And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" (43) But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. (44) And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. (45) And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. (46)
