Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - (24) When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". (25) Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. (26) and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' (27) beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. (28) Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' (29) They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. (30) ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! (31) They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); (32) to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, (33) “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” (34) Then we brought forth such believers as were there. (35) But did not find more than a single family of believers. (36) We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, (37) There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" (39) We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. (40) There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind (41) It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. (45) And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. (46)
