(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? (24) When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. (25) Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; (26) He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" (27) Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. (28) And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" (29) They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. (30) ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' (31) They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people (32) that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones (33) Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). (34) So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. (35) but We found only one Muslim house. (36) And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." (39) So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. (40) And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. (41) that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. (42) And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. (45) And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. (46)
