Hizb 53
Juz 27
Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? (24) When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” (25) Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. (26) So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? (27) Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. (28) Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" (29) "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." (30) ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" (31) They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” (32) To send down upon them stones of clay, (33) marked by your Lord for the sinful' (34) So We brought forth such believers as were in it, (35) for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. (36) And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. (39) So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. (40) And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind (41) which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. (42) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. (43) Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. (44) So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- (45) (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). (46)
