Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? (24) When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". (25) Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; (26) And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" (27) Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). (28) Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! (29) They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." (30) ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" (31) They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, (32) to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, (33) Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). (34) So We brought the believers out of that they were in. (35) And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. (36) and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. (37) There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. (38) But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. (39) So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. (40) There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind (41) that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. (42) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. (43) after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: (44) And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. (45) Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. (46)
