Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. (25) Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; (26) And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" (27) [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. (28) So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! (31) They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, (32) That we may send upon them stones of clay, (33) marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. (34) Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, (35) But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. (36) and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." (39) So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. (40) And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind (41) that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. (42) And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." (43) But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. (44) They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. (45) And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. (46)
