Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? (24) When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. (25) Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. (26) So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? (27) Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). (28) His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" (29) They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30) ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? (31) They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, (32) To send down upon them stones of clay, (33) marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." (34) Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. (35) but We found only one Muslim house. (36) And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." (39) So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. (40) And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. (41) that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. (42) There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. (43) after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: (44) So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. (45) And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. (46)
