Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? (24) When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. (25) Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, (26) And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? (27) beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. (28) His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" (29) They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' (30) ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" (31) They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” (32) That we may send down upon them stone of clay, (33) Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. (34) And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: (35) But did not find more than a single family of believers. (36) And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, (38) But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" (39) Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. (40) And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind (41) which turned everything it approached into dust. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. (45) And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. (46)
