Hizb 53
Juz 27
(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? (24) Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." (25) Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. (26) and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. (28) So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” (29) They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. (30) ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” (31) They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people (32) That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. (33) Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. (34) Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, (35) but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37) And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (38) But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" (39) So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. (40) And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. (41) It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. (42) And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. (43) But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; (44) Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. (45) And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. (46)
