Hizb 53
Juz 27
Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? (24) When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." (25) Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, (26) And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? (27) Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. (28) So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” (29) They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” (30) ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" (31) They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. (32) That we may send down upon them stone of clay, (33) Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." (34) So We brought out from therein the believers. (35) But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: (36) And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. (37) And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, (38) But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" (39) Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. (40) And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; (41) It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. (42) And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” (43) But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, (44) And neither stand up nor defend themselves. (45) The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. (46)
