Hizb 53
Juz 27
Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? (24) When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," (25) Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; (26) He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' (27) Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. (28) Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" (29) They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. (30) ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' (31) They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, (32) to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. (33) Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." (34) So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. (35) But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). (36) And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. (37) And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. (38) but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' (39) So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. (40) And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. (41) that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. (42) There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” (43) Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding (44) they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. (45) And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. (46)
