Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an, (1) Nay, but they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a marvellous thing! (2) What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. (3) We know what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a retaining record. (4) Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion. (5) Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein? (6) And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, (7) This is a reminder and it sharpens the insight of every servant of God who turns to Him in repentance. (8) And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; (9) and tall palmtrees with compact spathes (10) As provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the resurrection. (11) Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, (12) and Aad, Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot, (13) And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled. (14) Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. (15)
