Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Qur'an. (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) to come back to life after we have died and become dust? That is most improbable!" (3) We know that which the earth taketh of them, and with Us is a recording Book. (4) Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion. (5) Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it? (6) We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it (7) as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. (8) And We send down blessed water (rain) from the sky, then We produce therewith gardens and grain (every kind of harvests) that are reaped. (9) And tall date-palms, with ranged clusters; (10) Provision (made) for men; and therewith We quicken a dead land. Even so will be the resurrection of the dead. (11) In the past Noah's people, and the people of Rass and Thamud gave the lie (to Messengers), (12) And (the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, (13) and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan,] and the people of Tubba: they all gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon that whereof I had warned [them] came true. (14) Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. (15)
