Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah) (1) No, but they marvel that from among themselves a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say (in mockery): 'This is a marvelous thing! (2) Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!" (3) We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). (4) Nay, but they cried lies to the truth when it came to them, and so they are in a case confused. (5) Have they not looked up to the heaven above them, in what wise We have constructed and bedecked it, and that therein is no rift? (6) And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, (7) To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). (8) and We have sent down from the sky blessed water with which We have brought forth gardens and grain to be harvested, (9) And tall date-palms laden with clusters ranged. (10) as a provision for the worshipers; thereby We revived a land that was dead. Such shall be the emerging. (11) Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, (12) Ad, the Pharaoh, Lot, (13) and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan,] and the people of Tubba: they all gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon that whereof I had warned [them] came true. (14) Did We, then, become worn out by the first creation? Not at all; but they are in doubt about a fresh creation. (15)
