Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. By the honored Qur'an... (1) They are rather surprised that a warner from among themselves has come to them. So the unbelievers say: "This is astonishing: (2) “When we are dead and have turned to dust, will we be raised again? That return is impossible!” (3) We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). (4) In fact, they have rejected the truth that has come to them, thus, they live in confusion. (5) Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts? (6) We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it (7) as a lesson and reminder for every human being who turns to God; (8) And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; (9) And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, (10) all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth). (11) And before them the people of Nuh belied, and so did the dwellers of Rass and the Thamud. (12) And (the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, (13) and the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba': every one denied their messengers, and so My warning came true. (14) Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation. (15)
