Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Qaf. By the glorious Quran! (1) Nay, but they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a marvellous thing! (2) Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!" (3) We already know how much of them (of their bodies) the earth will consume. With Us there is a Book that contains all records. (4) But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition. (5) Do they not look at the sky above them - how We have built it and made it beautiful and free of all faults? (6) We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it (7) An insight and a Reminder for every slave turning to Allah (i.e. the one who believes in Allah and performs deeds of His obedience, and always begs His pardon). (8) And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, (9) And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, (10) a provision for the servants, and thereby We revived a land that was dead. Even so is the coming forth. (11) Before these, the people of Nooh had denied, and so did the dwellers of Rass and the Thamud. (12) Ad, the Pharaoh, Lot, (13) the dwellers of the Thicket and the nation of Tubba', all belied their Messengers, therefore My threat was realized. (14) Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! (15)
