Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Qaf: By the Glorious Qur'an (Thou art Allah's Messenger). 1 Indeed, they are astonished that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. So these deniers of the truth say, "This is indeed a strange thing, 2 Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!" 3 Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing. 4 But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state. 5 Have they not observed the sky above them and marked how We have built it and adorned it, leaving no flaws in it; 6 And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, 7 To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah). 8 And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, 10 all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth). 11 Before them, the nation of Noah, the nation of ArRass belied and so did Thamood 12 And (the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, 13 dwellers of the forest, and the people of Tubba had all rejected the Prophets. Thus, they became subject to Our torment. 14 So did We tire by creating the first time? Rather they doubt being created again. 15
