Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaaf. By the Glorious Koran! (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!" (3) We know all that the earth takes away of them, and a Book of Records is with Us. (4) In fact, they have rejected the truth that has come to them, thus, they live in confusion. (5) Have they not observed the sky above them and marked how We have built it and adorned it, leaving no flaws in it; (6) And the earth - We have spread it wide, and set upon it mountains firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of all beauteous kinds, (7) To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). (8) And We have sent down from the heaven water and blest wherewith We have caused gardens to grow and the grain reaped. (9) And tall date-palms laden with clusters ranged. (10) as sustenance apportioned to men; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life: [and] even so will be [man's] coming-forth from death. (11) Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, (12) and Ad and Pharaoh, the brothers of Lot, (13) The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). (14) Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. (15)
