Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Qaaf. By the Glorious Koran! (1) Indeed, they are astonished that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. So these deniers of the truth say, "This is indeed a strange thing, (2) Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!" (3) Surely We know that which the earth consumeth of them, and with Us is a Book preserved. (4) But no! They called the truth a lie when it came to them; so they are in a confused state. (5) Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts? (6) We spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and We cause every delightful thing to grow in it (7) A vision and a reminder for every penitent slave. (8) And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; (9) and tall palmtrees with compact spathes (10) a provision for the servants, and thereby We revived a land that was dead. Even so is the coming forth. (11) Before them, the nation of Noah, the nation of ArRass belied and so did Thamood (12) And the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun, and the fellowmen of Lut. (13) The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). (14) Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! (15)
