Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Qaf. By the glorious Quran! (1) In fact, it seems odd (to the pagans) that a warner from their own people has come to them. The disbelievers have said, "It is very strange (2) What! When we are dead and reduced to mere dust, (shall we be raised to life)? Such a return is far-fetched.” (3) We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). (4) Rather, they belied the truth when it came to them, and now they are in a state of confusion. (5) Did they never observe the sky above them: how We built it and beautified it; and it has no cracks; (6) (Have they not seen) how We have spread out the earth, placed on it firm mountains and have made all kinds of flourishing pairs of plants grow? (7) As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature. (8) And We send down blessed water (rain) from the sky, then We produce therewith gardens and grain (every kind of harvests) that are reaped. (9) And lofty palm trees having fruit arranged in layers - (10) all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth). (11) Cried lies before them the people of Noah and the men of Er-Rass, and Thamood, (12) and Ad, and Pharaoh, and Lot's brethren, (13) And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled. (14) What, were We wearied by the first creation? No indeed; but they are in uncertainty as to the new creation. (15)
