Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Qaf. [These letters (Qaf, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Glorious Quran. (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) What, when we are dead and become dust? That is a far returning!' (3) We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). (4) Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. (5) What, have they not beheld heaven above them, how We have built it, and decked it out fair, and it has no cracks? (6) And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, (7) An insight and an admonition for every bondman penitent. (8) And We sent down the auspicious water from the sky, therefore producing gardens with it, and the grain that is harvested. (9) and tall palm-trees with spathes compact, (10) As a provision for our bondmen; and therewith We have quickened a dead land. Even so will be the coming forth. (11) [Long] before those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people give the lie to this truth, and [so did] the folk of Ar-Rass, and [the tribes of] Thamud (12) And the A-ad, and Fir'awn, and the brethren of Lut. (13) And the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'; everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so My Threat took effect. (14) Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! (15)
