Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Qaf. By the Qur'an glorious, We have sent thee as a warner. (1) They are rather surprised that a warner from among themselves has come to them. So the unbelievers say: "This is astonishing: (2) What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. (3) Surely We know that which the earth consumeth of them, and with Us is a Book preserved. (4) Nay, but they have denied the truth when it came unto them, therefor they are now in troubled case. (5) Have they not seen how We have established the sky above them and decked it without gaps and cracks? (6) And the earth - We have spread it wide, and set upon it mountains firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of all beauteous kinds, (7) To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah). (8) We have sent blessed water down from the sky to grow gardens, harvestable crops (9) and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered spathes; (10) As a provision for our bondmen; and therewith We have quickened a dead land. Even so will be the coming forth. (11) Denied before them (i.e. these pagans of Makkah who denied you, O Muhammad SAW) the people of Nuh (Noah), and the dwellers of Rass, and the Thamud, (12) And 'Ad, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and the brethren of Lout (Lot), (13) The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). (14) Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation. (15)
