Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Qaf. By the Qur'an glorious, We have sent thee as a warner. (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) When we are dead and turned to dust, this returning (to life) is most far-fetched." (3) Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing. (4) In fact, they have rejected the truth that has come to them, thus, they live in confusion. (5) Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps? (6) And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). (7) as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. (8) And We have sent down from the heaven water and blest wherewith We have caused gardens to grow and the grain reaped. (9) And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile (10) A provision for (Allah's) slaves. And We give life therewith to a dead land. Thus will be the resurrection (of the dead). (11) Cried lies before them the people of Noah and the men of Er-Rass, and Thamood, (12) And 'Ad, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and the brethren of Lout (Lot), (13) And the Dwellers of the Woods, and the people of Tubb’a; each one of them one denied the Noble Messengers, so My promised punishment proved true. (14) Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a second creation. (15)
