Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Koran! (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. (3) We know all what the earth decreases from them; and with Us is a Book that retains. (4) But no! They called the truth a lie when it came to them; so they are in a confused state. (5) Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts? (6) And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). (7) All these are to serve as eye openers and as a lesson to every being who is prone to turn (to the Truth). (8) And We send down water as a blessing from the sky, and grow gardens with it and the grain for harvest, (9) and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, (10) as a provision for human beings; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life. Such shall be the Resurrection. (11) Before them, the nation of Noah, the nation of ArRass belied and so did Thamood (12) And 'Ad, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and the brethren of Lout (Lot), (13) And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled. (14) Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation. (15)
