Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Quran! (1) Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing: (2) Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!" (3) We know what the earth diminishes of them; with Us is a book recording. (4) Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion. (5) Have they not seen how We have established the sky above them and decked it without gaps and cracks? (6) And the earth - We have spread it wide, and set upon it mountains firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of all beauteous kinds, (7) An insight and a Reminder for every slave turning to Allah (i.e. the one who believes in Allah and performs deeds of His obedience, and always begs His pardon). (8) and We have sent down from the sky blessed water with which We have brought forth gardens and grain to be harvested, (9) and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, (10) A provision for (Allah's) slaves. And We give life therewith to a dead land. Thus will be the resurrection (of the dead). (11) Before these, the people of Nooh had denied, and so did the dwellers of Rass and the Thamud. (12) And the A-ad, and Fir'awn, and the brethren of Lut. (13) And the dwellers of the Wood and people of Tubba'. Each of them denied the apostles. So My threat became a reality. (14) Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. (15)
