Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By Qaf and the glorious Quran, (you are the Messenger of God). (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) When we are dead and turned to dust, this returning (to life) is most far-fetched." (3) (Thus do they imagine, although) We know well what the earth takes away from them. With Us is a Record that preserves everything. (4) But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a state of confusion. (5) Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it? (6) and We have spread out the earth, and have set upon it firm mountains, and have caused it to bring out plants of all beauteous kinds? (7) as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. (8) And We send down from the skies water rich in blessings, and cause thereby gardens to grow, and fields of grain, (9) and tall palm-trees with clusters of dates (10) a provision for the servants, and thereby We revived a land that was dead. Even so is the coming forth. (11) Before them, the nation of Noah, the nation of ArRass belied and so did Thamood (12) and Ad, and Pharaoh, and Lot's brethren, (13) the dwellers of the Thicket and the nation of Tubba', all belied their Messengers, therefore My threat was realized. (14) Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! (15)
