Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Qaf; by oath of the Glorious Qur’an. (1) They are rather surprised that a warner from among themselves has come to them. So the unbelievers say: "This is astonishing: (2) When we are dead and turned to dust, this returning (to life) is most far-fetched." (3) We know what the earth consumes of them, for We have the Book that preserves everything. (4) But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a state of confusion. (5) Have they not seen how We have established the sky above them and decked it without gaps and cracks? (6) and We have spread out the earth, and have set upon it firm mountains, and have caused it to bring out plants of all beauteous kinds? (7) as a lesson and reminder for every human being who turns to God; (8) And We send down from the skies water rich in blessings, and cause thereby gardens to grow, and fields of grain, (9) And lofty date-palms with ranged clusters, (10) as sustenance for My servants. With this We have brought the dead land back to life. Thus, will also be your resurrection. (11) In the past Noah's people, and the people of Rass and Thamud gave the lie (to Messengers), (12) And the A-ad, and Fir'awn, and the brethren of Lut. (13) The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). (14) Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation? (15)
