Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Koran! (1) Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing: (2) that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality". (3) We already know how much of them (of their bodies) the earth will consume. With Us there is a Book that contains all records. (4) Nay, but they have denied the truth when it came unto them, therefor they are now in troubled case. (5) Have they not looked up to the heaven above them, in what wise We have constructed and bedecked it, and that therein is no rift? (6) We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers and We made every kind of splendid thing to grow upon it (7) as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. (8) We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, (9) and tall palm-trees with clusters of dates (10) all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth). (11) Before these, the people of Nooh had denied, and so did the dwellers of Rass and the Thamud. (12) As did the people of 'Ad and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot, (13) dwellers of the forest, and the people of Tubba had all rejected the Prophets. Thus, they became subject to Our torment. (14) Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation. (15)
