Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an, (1) But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! (2) to come back to life after we have died and become dust? That is most improbable!" (3) We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves. (4) Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. (5) Have they not seen how We have established the sky above them and decked it without gaps and cracks? (6) And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). (7) A perception and an understanding, for every bondman who inclines. (8) We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, (9) and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered spathes; (10) A provision for (Allah's) slaves. And We give life therewith to a dead land. Thus will be the resurrection (of the dead). (11) [Long] before those [who now deny resurrection] did Noah's people give the lie to this truth, and [so did] the folk of Ar-Rass, and [the tribes of] Thamud (12) And 'Aad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot (13) and the people of Aykah, and the people of Tubba'. They all gave the lie to the Messengers. Thereafter My threat of chastisement against them was fulfilled. (14) Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation. (15)
