Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. (1) But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing. (2) When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return! (3) Surely We know that which the earth consumeth of them, and with Us is a Book preserved. (4) Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. (5) Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts? (6) And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). (7) To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah). (8) And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, (9) And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile (10) A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising. (11) (Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood, (12) and Ad, and Pharaoh, and Lot's brethren, (13) the dwellers of the Thicket and the nation of Tubba', all belied their Messengers, therefore My threat was realized. (14) Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! (15)
