Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Qaf: By the Glorious Qur'an (Thou art Allah's Messenger). (1) Nay, they wonder that there has come to them a warner (Muhammad SAW) from among themselves. So the disbelievers say: "This is a strange thing! (2) What, when we are dead and become dust? That is a far returning!' (3) We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). (4) Nay, but they cried lies to the truth when it came to them, and so they are in a case confused. (5) Did they never observe the sky above them: how We built it and beautified it; and it has no cracks; (6) And the earth -- We stretched it forth, and cast on it firm mountains, and We caused to grow therein of every joyous kind (7) This is a reminder and it sharpens the insight of every servant of God who turns to Him in repentance. (8) We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, (9) And tall date-palms laden with clusters ranged. (10) As a provision for our bondmen; and therewith We have quickened a dead land. Even so will be the coming forth. (11) Before them, the people of Noah and the people of Rass denied this truth; and so did the people of Thamud. (12) And the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun, and the fellowmen of Lut. (13) the dwellers of the Thicket and the nation of Tubba', all belied their Messengers, therefore My threat was realized. (14) Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation. (15)
