Q (Qaaf)
45 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat) before The Town (Al-Balad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Qur'an. (1) But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing. (2) When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return! (3) We know that which the earth taketh of them, and with Us is a recording Book. (4) In fact they denied the Truth when it came to them, so they are now in a dilemma. (5) Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein? (6) And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). (7) This is a reminder and it sharpens the insight of every servant of God who turns to Him in repentance. (8) And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; (9) And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, (10) all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth). (11) Before them, the people of Noah and the people of Rass denied this truth; and so did the people of Thamud. (12) And Ad and Firon and Lut's brethren, (13) and the people of Aykah, and the people of Tubba'. They all gave the lie to the Messengers. Thereafter My threat of chastisement against them was fulfilled. (14) Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation? (15)
