Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
29 verses, revealed in Medina after Friday (Al-Jumu'ah) before The Feast (Al-Maa 'edah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We have indeed, for your sake (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), bestowed a clear victory. 1 that Allah forgives your past and future sins, and completes His Favor to you, and guides you on a Straight Path, 2 And that Allah may help thee with powerful help. 3 It is He Who instilled peace in the hearts of the believers, so that it may increase their strength of conviction; and to Allah only belong the armies of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise. 4 He hath ordained war in order that He may cause the believing men and the believing women enter Gardens whereunder rivers flow, as abiders therein, and that He may expiate from them their misdeeds. And that is with Allah ever an achievement mighty. 5 And (that) He may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, the entertainers of evil thoughts about Allah. On them is the evil turn, and Allah is wroth with them and has cursed them and prepared hell for them, and evil is the resort. 6 And Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Mighty, Wise. 7 We have truly sent thee as a witness, as a bringer of Glad Tidings, and as a Warner: 8 That ye may believe in Allah and His apostle, and may assist Him and honour Him, and may hallow Him at dawn and evening. 9 Behold, all who pledge their allegiance to you indeed pledge their allegiance to God: the hand of God is over their hands. Hence, he who breaks his oath, breaks it only to his own loss. Whereas he who remains true to what he has pledged to God, shall have a great reward bestowed upon him by God. 10
